Architectural Information
The Villages have architectural guidelines and approved paint schemes. Architectural improvements should be submitted in writing to Westwind Client Services or through the Westwind's website through the Member Portal.
Following is a memo on Westwind Letterhead regarding requirements for Roof Replacement, Window Replacement and Exterior Paint Schemes. Please share this memo with your insurance company in the event of a claim and with your contractor(s) who is performing the work on your home.
Design Review Request Form
The Villages has developed a Design Review Request form (fillable) for use in requesting approval of changes/modifications to your home. The project types include additions, deck installation, exterior, fence, garden, hardscaping, rear/side landscaping, paint (please provide your 1st, 2nd and 3rd color scheme choices) and replacement windows, concrete stoops/steps in front of the home. With the design review form please include a description of your project including diagrams, pictures, colors, drawings, type of materials, dimension, or other information that will be helpful to understand your request.
Following is the Design Request Review Form. This form is to be submitted to the Community Management Company for review and then submittal to the Villages Architectural Group for review and approval and/or disapproval.

Paint Color Schemes
Note, the Villages pre-approved paint schemes must be used. HRCA does not set approved paint schemes for our community.
The Villages 2024 pre-approved paint schemes (exterior, trim, and suggested door colors) are now available. Note, the garage door is required to be painted the same color as the body of the house, not the trim color or the front door color.

Touch Up Painting
Touch-up painting is permitted without prior approval when using the home's existing, approved paint color scheme. This applies to limited areas such as trim, garage doors, or sections affected by weather-related elements (e.g., sun fading, water damage, wind/hail damage, tree damage), typically affecting only one side of the home.
Note: Full repainting, changes to the color scheme, or painting of large areas beyond minor touch-up work still require prior written approval through the Architectural Review process.
