Landscaping

Landscaping improvements are a top priority for The Villages! We will be posting additional information on past projects and future projects on this page. Please send any issues to our management company so they can be investigated as quickly as possible.

2026 Landscaping Enhancements Projects
VHRS is concentrating on owner requests as well as March 2026 walkthrough identified additional bushes and trees that need to be removed. Trees that will be removed include trees that are diseased, dead, or have the Ash Borer Beetle damage.  A few junipers that are dead or in poor shape will be removed. Any health junipers will not be removed in 2026.

Due to budget constraints and anticipated watering restrictions, the Board has decided to concentrate on "window dressing" the neighborhood and completing one major enhancement project. The enhancement project will concentrate on removal of grass and replacing with a ground cover or other ColoradoScape provisions.

ColoradoScape is defined as the process of landscaping, that reduces or eliminates the need for irrigation. This process has traditionally called Xeriscape. ColoradoScape is a natural landscape, comprised of low to very-low water use plant material, which blends in with the native Colorado landscape. Plant material must be maintained in its natural, native form. This landscaping utilizes a combination of hardscape and landscape materials, providing a variety of colors, textures, sizes, shapes, and seasonal interest.

VHRS was audited by Highlands Ranch Water District in June 2025.  A copy of the Irrigation Analysis is attached.  This is for review only.
