Highlands Ranch Community Association (HRCA)
Highlands Ranch is a 22,000-acre master-planned community founded in 1981.  Highlands Ranch is located 12 miles south of Denver in Douglas County The Highlands Ranch Community Association (HRCA) is a nationally award-winning nonprofit organization for 30,551 home owners in Highlands Ranch. The HRCA maintains four state-of-the-art recreation centers, provides architectural control and covenant enforcement, programs, fitness, sports and educational opportunities, manages the Backcountry Wilderness Area, and hosts over 100 community events annually.
 
There are two entities that maintain different public spaces in Highlands Ranch, the Master Association and The Metro District. The Master Association (HRCA) maintains the four recreation centers and is responsible for covenant enforcement. The Metro District (HRMD) has responsibility for public parks, trails, greenbelts and fencing along main thoroughfares. Links below for each entity.

Highlands Ranch Metro District (HRMD)
Highlands Ranch Metro District (HRMD) is the local government within our community.  The Metro District provides high quality municipal services while managing resources wisely for Highland Ranch.  This includes snow removal, construction of major roads, installation and maintenance of landscaping and fences adjacent to major roads, installation of traffic signals and street lights on major roads, construction and maintenance of parks and trails, management and maintenance of extensive natural open space areas, construction of storm drainage facilities, water and wastewater services through a contract with Centennial Water & Sanitation, community events and volunteer opportunities, active adult/senior program and services, and operation of the Highlands Ranch Mansion.
 
You will receive billings from Metro District for the services provided including street lights, water & sewer, etc.
