UPDATE EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 1, 2024:  Colorado Waste Connections is now requiring homeowners change their recycling bins/tubs from open containers to a 96 gallon closed containers with lid.  All trash and recycling must be in these bins or the trash and recycling will not be picked up.  Colorado Waste Connections is now using a one-man operated truck and will be used to lift the bins.  Colorado Connections is requiring our community to use the 96-gallon trash and recycle bins. Therefore, Westwind will be sending out e-mail blast and letters via regular mail regarding this requirement and will be requesting from you the number of bins you need as Colorado Waste Connections has agreed to provide the 96-gallon trash and recycle bins for free.  If you have a green 96-gallon trash bin  you then only need to request a recycle bin.  If you have a 96-gallon recycle bin, you do not need to order a new bin.

In addition, Colorado Waste Connections will no longer pick up any lawn/yard items including any  twigs/tree branch bundles.  These items must go into the trash can or you will need to call to set up a special pickup (or you can find out where you can take the twigs/branches to a county tree collection facility).  You will be charged a fee for the pickup.
Westwind will be sending out an e-mail blast with the Waste Connections will not pick any large items left out by the trash bins.  You must call to set up a special pickup or you can take your item(s) to any thrift store in the area.  You will be charged a fee for the pickup.

Please call Waste Connections customer service phone number is 800-457-1379.

If any large items are left in the street, the board is considering sending violation letters to everyone within the common area pod for pickup the large item.  This could result in fines to the homeowners in the cul-de-sac for not complying with the new trash requirements.

If you have any questions, please contact Westwind Management.

LARGE ITEM(S) PICKUP AND DONATION RESOURCES
Community members have been placing large items out for pickup by Colorado Waste Connections on garbage and recycling days. However, Colorado Waste Connections has informed us that they will no longer pick up any large items without scheduling for a special pickup (fee applies). This includes, but is not limited to, couches, dressers, desks, BBQ equipment, chairs, tables, mattresses, bed frames, bookcases, small appliances, kitchenware, and yard waste, including twigs and tree branch bundles. These items must be placed in the trash can, or you will need to call to set up a special pickup. Alternatively, you can take twigs and branches to a county tree collection facility.

It is the responsibility of each community member to ensure our community area is kept clean and free of large items that may sit in the same spot for days on trash day. Please help us keep our community clean and presentable.
